Abstract

This review describes the most common alternative access routes (i.e., direct aortic, transapical, transcarotid, transcaval, and transaxillary implantation techniques), their limitations, ergonomics, procedural results, and future perspectives in comparison to transfemoral (TF) transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
