Abstract

This subsequent review to the first Mini-Review(Schäfer, Burgdorf, 2026) describes the most relevant details for preparation and execution of alternative access techniques (i.e. direct aortic, transapical, transcarotid, transcaval and transaxillary implantation techniques), their limitations, procedural results in comparison to transfemoral (TF) transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
